About Us:
Young Guns Baseball is a travel baseball organization established by my dad, Tony Pierce Sr., in the summer of 2000. The idea was presented to my father by a parent from Florida, where travel baseball was common at the time. His knowledge of travel ball combined with my dad's knowledge of the game led to the founding of the Young Guns, and made us the first travel baseball organization in the Columbus/Phenix City Area. Before that point, it was lessons and rec ball coaching for Big Tony. My dad always believed that "baseball is to be played full speed, hell bent for leather, with grit, but smart and between the ears" so playing hard and the right way has always been a major emphasis in our teachings. Since its inception 22 years ago, Young Guns Baseball has played a major role in the development of area youth. The development is not limited to skills on the baseball field, instead it includes character traits that will exist when baseball is no longer a daily activity.
